YOUTH FOOTBALL: Victory for Elmore
6:20am Sunday 19th February 2012
ELMORE Under-18s had their first game in 13 weeks and took all three points in their Somerset Floodlight League home match with Glastonbury in a 4-2 success.
Sam Ruskin got on the end of some good play from new signing Mitch Ball to give the Eagles an early lead then, just before half-time, Robbie Pengelly fired in a penalty after Rhys Parsons was fouled in the box.
The second half saw Glastonbury rally and equalise through a free kick and corner which Elmore should have dealt with better.
After the lapse of concentration, Elmore’s midfeild took control as Sam Needs cut in from the left to set captain Josh Wren through to score. This saw Glastonbury lose heart and Elmore finished the job with a fine goal from Ball.
Elmore’s man-of-the-match was Jake Dascombe with a great display in midfield.
