GOLF: Joy for Hagley and Pickard at Tiverton

ROB Hagley and Peter Pickard were the only winners of a qualifying competition to make it through the first round of the men's Winter Foursomes at Tiverton on Saturday.
Hagley and Pickard, who won the fourth and final qualifier earlier this month, beat Dave Milton and Paul Steele in the last 32.
Duncan Floyde and Ray Pratt, winners of the first qualifier in November, were defeated by last year's captain Tony Allsopp and James Lambden.
Ian Buckingham and David Grieve, who led the way in the second qualifier, were knocked out by Kim Garnsworthy and Pete Guest.
David Wright and 91-year-old Noel Thomas, who won the third qualifier having already progressed in an earlier event, have yet to play their match against Mark Dakin and Chem Austin.
