RUNNING: Great West run proving as popular as ever

ENTRIES are rolling in fast for the 2012 Follett Stock Great West Run on May 6.

The popular half marathon event sees 3,000 runners making their way around the centre of Exeter with good crowds providing a real festival atmosphere.

All sorts of runners take part in the event including people who have recently started running, those who are aiming to raise money for charity and seasoned club runners who make a real race of it at the front of the field.

For those who feel 13.1 miles seems a bit far the Recruitment Solutions Great West 5k is run alongside the half marathon on a flat, city centre route.

The Family Fun Run follows a route of just over a mile, leaving Exeter Arena just after the start of the half marathon.

Volunteers are also needed for the event.
